Released on 20 June 2024, version 1.22.1 is a major feature release focused on visual consistency and brand control. The headline additions are the new Themes system and a greatly expanded font library — tools that together let you establish a cohesive look across your entire project far more quickly than before.
Themes work across all robot types and Avatars. Custom font support is available for Plural Avatars only.

New Features

Themes

Themes let you define a reusable set of design settings — colours, backgrounds, button styles, fonts, and more — and apply them to an entire project in seconds. Instead of styling each element individually, you create a theme once and let Plural apply it everywhere. Where to find Themes: Open the side menu after logging in, click Themes, then click New Theme. Give it a name and your first theme is ready to configure. What you can control in a theme:
AreaSettings
GeneralAvatar visibility, background colours, background images, vertical counterpart settings
TextTitle and subtitle colour, font, and alignment
Question buttonsButton colour and selected button colour
Knowledge Base buttonsButton colour and selected button colour
Rating elementButton colour, selected colour, and rating icons
Thank you noteFont and banner colours for post-input confirmation messages
Menu buttonsFull button styling options for a uniform menu appearance
How to apply a theme to a project: Right-click the top bar of any frame and select Change project theme. Choose your theme and Plural updates the styling automatically. Overriding theme settings per element: You can still customise individual elements in the Design Editor. Plural highlights any setting that differs from the active theme, and you can revert to the theme value at any time.

Expanded Font Library

The font selector now includes a full library of new typefaces. Click any text element to browse and switch fonts. You can also upload your own custom fonts in .ttf, .woff, or .woff2 format.
Custom fonts apply only to Avatar projects. If you are building for Pepper, Temi, or NAO, use the standard font options.

Improvements

  • Custom “No human interaction” timeout per frame — Right-click the top bar of any frame and select Change No interaction timeout to override the default 20-second timeout with any duration you prefer. This setting applies to all elements within that frame.
  • Alphabetical language ordering in the language selection screen — Languages are now listed alphabetically, making it easier to find and select the correct language.

Bug Fixes

  • Albanian flag was missing from the language selector and has now been added.
  • The sidebar now opens correctly when a block of elements is selected.
  • Project template previews were not visible after a new template was created; this is now fixed.
  • Empty Speech-to-Text (STT) input occasionally caused an error; this has been resolved.
  • Loading times in Plural have been reduced when opening projects that contain many variables and conditions.
  • Variables were lost when elements were copied to other projects; they are now preserved correctly.
  • An infinite loading screen that occurred when creating a project from a template has been fixed.
